Cankids Awareness Campaign
International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) - 15th February
International Childhood Cancer Day is celebrated worldwide on February 15th, with special events/outings for children with cancer and their families, its main aim being to spread awareness the central message that CHILDHOOD CANCER IS CURABLE. International Childhood Cancer Day is based on Childhood Cancer International’s (CCI) core belief that every child with cancer deserves the best possible medical and psycho-social care.
ICCD is celebrated, to honor the bravery and courage of children with cancer and their families, to create Childhood Cancer Awareness, and to fight the Stigma in our Society with the message – “Childhood Cancer is Curable – when detected in time and treated properly at a Cancer Center.
CanKids has been celebrating ICCD since its inception in 2004 with different themes every year in consonance with SIOP and CCI. CanKids has always strived to make maximum impact on the lives of children with cancer by following a holistic approach towards their well-being.
NURSES DAY - 12 May
Nurses Day is celebrated every year on 12th May to mark the birthday of Florence Nightingale and to mark the contributions nurses make to society. Children make Thank You cards, pin Gold Ribbons in support of childhood cancer, cut cakes to thank the nurses for their love and gentle care.
