International Childhood Cancer Day- Resources & Toolkit


15th February 2021 is the 20th International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD).  It is a time to acknowledge the thousands of children and their families who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis, raise awareness and funds and advocate for childhood cancer.
AIM & Objectives: -
  1. Advocating to policy makers and key stakeholders at Global, Regional, Country, State and Facility level to make Childhood Cancer a Child & Health Priority.
  2. Honoring Children with Cancer & their Families through celebrations, competitions.
  3. Creating awareness that CHILDHOOD CANCER IS CURABLE when detected in time and treated properly at a cancer center
  4. Raising much needed funds to support the children and their families during their treatment Journey

Launch of 20th ICCD :- On Feb 7th 2021 Member HealthNiti Aayog launches International Childhood Cancer Day Campaign ‘’Better Survival for Children with Cancer’’
The Childhood Cancer Community was fortunate to have the launch of the pan India International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) campaign by Dr. V.K.Paul, Member Health, NITI Aayog.
The month long ICCD campaign will go across 21 cities and 68 cancer centers to acknowledge the thousands of children and their families who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis, raise awareness and advocate for better survival for children with cancer in India.
A small group of child cancer patient’sparent’s survivors, doctors and KK team were privileged to be at the home of Dr Paul with his family on a bright Sunday afternoon.
Childhood cancer survivors of CanKids KCK group performed a streetplay “MeraHaq - Right to health my Right not a privilege “ , and gifted Member Health the “Story of 300,000 Pledges” that captured their 4 year iPledge campaign a journey across geographies, States and stakeholders, car rallies , light up gold , gold ribbons to declare Gold the color of childhood cancer in India.
Little Child patients and the survivors led the Hula Hoop Fit India dance invoking the elders in their midst to be fit too and presented the Member health with a hand printed Tree of life dreamcatcher installation that captures the theme of ICCd this year! #cureAll better survival for kids with cancer # ThroughOur Hands.
Collectively we are committed to ensure Better Survival For Children with Cancer! Childhood cancer is treatable and access to the Best Treatment, Care and Support is a priority for the govt and all stakeholders. #throughourhands#cureall#Cankidscan#gogoldindia
