National Outreach Program (NOP)

Cankids' National Outreach Program works through a 2 pronged approach:
1. Improving Access to Care by partnering with cancer treating centres to provide best standards of treatment care and support for children reaching the centre for treatment.  Through Cankids Hospital Support Unit Projects  - Cankids works in partnership with and signs MOUs with childhood cancer treatment centres in Government, Trust or private hospitals across the country, year on year identifying needs and gaps, providing social support teams, holistic social support services, and Cankids Care centres, building capacities of health and social support professionals, promoting and supporting research and impact assessment and advocating for children with cancer and their families to treating teams and hospital administrations.  This is based on needs assessment, funding support and its own manpower resources and ability to expand.

Cankids Provides Social Support Teams - Social Workers, database managers, psychologists, nutritionists, teachers, parent support support groups as patient navigator and Survivor and as patient advocate. It builds capacity and skills of social support teams through training and resource.

2. Improving Access to Care by partnering with State Government and all relevant Stakeholders, to ensure that children with cancer are detected and diagnosed at the earliest, appropriately referred to the right cancer centres, and managed through shared care models of treatment, care and support.
