Go Gold Gala for Children With Cancer

CanKids Go Gold Gala was back after a very long time, a truly memorable evening dedicated to supporting children battling cancer & their families, an evening of recognition, gratitude and giving attended by doctors, long-time donors, partners, supporters and volunteers generously hosted by Madhabi & Dhaval Buch at the Pullman Hotel, Aerocity, New Delhi on 8 March 2024. 
Why Childhood Cancer matter? Why should where you are born to decide whether you survive cancer or not? Every child battling cancer deserves Access2care Anytime, Anywhere. 
Our impactful film "Why Childhood Cancer Matters." sheds light on the challenges faced by children with cancer underscoring the urgent need for awareness and support in our country. 

We had the honor of recognizing and celebrating the remarkable contributions of our Gold Hero awardees for 2024. ​

Government Gold Hero Award:
Dr. VK Paul, Member of NITI Aayog - 

• For Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY), advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030, aligning with WHO's Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (GICC) and our India Childhood Cancer Initiative (ICCI) & comprehensive treatment packages benefiting children with cancer and their families nationwide.
• For recognising NGOs like CanKids as crucial partners in achieving Care and UHC at grassroots levels.
• For formulating POSHAN Abhiyan, guiding critical nutrition management programs vital for children's cancer treatment success.

 Health Professional Gold Hero Award:
 Dr. Santosh G. Honavar, Visionary Leader in Fight Retinoblastoma India - 

• 10 years ago your Vision 20-20 monograph showed the path to impacting RB treatment, care and support.
• The Fight RB India National Interest Group was set up on August 30th 2014 which has worked systematically over the last decade to drive survival & other outcomes for Children with retinoblastoma in India
• 55 Partnering Centers (Ophthalmology + Ocular Oncology + Pediatric Oncology) in Fight RB India Group are providing a network of treating centres with standard of care treatment and support Access to care for RB is 83% compared to the national average of 42%.
• “A prospective collaborative research for newly diagnosed Retinoblastoma patients in India INPHOG-RB-19-01“. closed recruitment in September 2023. Against the target of 630 patients 1120 patients were recruited in the multi-centre study across centres
• A majority of centres are using Sophisticated therapeutic interventions like brachytherapy, IAC and Genetic testing

The insightful thought-provoking Fireside Chat on "Navigating Privilege," moderated by international entrepreneur & strategy advisor Niraj Sharan, with a star cast panel of Rohit Kapoor CEO Swiggy, Arun Arora, Director Mavyn and Chetak and Kirti Seth CEO SSC NASSCOM, was a captivating exploration of privilege and its role in shaping our society. Their discussions shed light on the importance of acknowledging and leveraging privilege to drive positive change and foster inclusivity.

At the heart of the Go Gold Gala, the Gold Spirit Awards brilliantly showcased the spirit of the evening, inviting guests to embrace the theme by donning their most elegant gold attire. These awards celebrated the pinnacle of golden glamour. 
The Gold Standard Style Award was gracefully claimed by Mrs. Smita Bhatnagar, who stood out for her exceptional elegance and style. 
Mrs. Pooja Sharma, with her refined and sophisticated look, was the deserving recipient of the Sartorial Gold Elegance Award. 
The Glimmering Gold Fashionista Award was splendidly awarded to Mr. Vishal Dutta, recognizing his standout style and bold embrace of the golden theme. These accolades honored the most dazzling interpretations of the gala's golden theme.
