Hi! I am Vidya from Singapore. I have run the Tata Mumbai Marathon for the last so many years for CanKids and I promise to run till the age of 85 to help CanKids raise funds!!!
This year was special. I met Vikas and Ibne Ali who are both childhood cancer survivors from Team CanKids. Survivors who have survived cancer, who have thrived and who also give back to the cause by creating awareness & advocating for change. They told me that they've been running the marathon for the last several years as well. Vikas is a retinoblastoma cancer survivor and Ibne Ali is a Leukemia survivor. Ibne surprisingly has also represented India in the World Children's Winners Games in Moscow 2018, winning gold in chess, silver in rifle shooting, and bronze in football.
I was impressed by their passion and their desire to give back and it renewed my own commitment to work together with them. We decided to put together our fundraisers and to have just this one fundraiser between us where we are going to raise much-needed funds. We want to reach our goal and you can help us reach the target!
